BASKETBALL
Coach Kenneth “Kenny” Lee is a Savannah dad of three who loves the game of basketball. With over 25 years of experience in and around the game, his specialty and focus is skill development. He believes that building a strong foundation on fundamentals leads to a more improved player. He is looking forward to working with the young athletes at the JEA!
WATER POLO
Coach Chris is an educator with 20 years of experience as a Swim Instructor. Starting in 1999 as a lifeguard at the Prospect Park YMCA, he quickly advanced to the position of Aquatics Director. Coach Chris wanted to further his teaching skills so he left the pool for the classroom. Working as an Early Childhood Educator and Art Director, he found himself constantly back in the pool providing private lessons. In 2018 he started his own learn-to-swim company. After relocating to GA, he's now "making a splash" at the JEA!
SOCCER
Coach Callie is a Savannah native who began her soccer days right here at the JEA at the age of 4! Coach Callie played at the GHSA state playoff level with Calvary Day School during her high school years, along with competing for 5 years with the Savannah Celtic Futbol Club. Coach Callie played at the collegiate soccer level at Brewton-Parker College. Coaching experience includes coaching Micro Soccer with Savannah Celtic Futbol Club, coaching U8 Boys Academy teams with Savannah United, and assistant coaching with Calvary Day School’s Girls Soccer program. Coach Callie is currently the Youth Sports Program Coordinator at the Savannah JEA.
KARATE
Sensei Lloyd McCray II started his martial arts training in 1988 in West Palm Beach, FL, under the instruction of the Great Grand Master “Ulysses POP Winn.” Since the beginning, he has studied many different fighting styles and is ranked as a 4th degree black belt in Nisei GOJU-RYU Karate, a 1st degree black belt in Sim-do kickboxing and has earned a red belt in Taekwondo. He has won numerous martial arts tournaments since the age of nine, and is currently undefeated in sparring where he still competes. Sensei McCray recently won the 2016 U.S.-N.K.K.U Olympia Tournament in sparring in Savannah, GA, and is notably under the instruction of the Great Grand Masters, Ulysses “POP” Winn and Ronald Frazier - both 10th degree Black Belts. Sensei McCray has been an Academic Advisor and professor at Savannah State University for the past 12 years. His passion is to mentor, teach, and advise tomorrow’s future leaders, and his primary goal in martial arts is to help and direct every student to reach his or her maximum potential in all areas of their lives.
