Carol Duggar

Carol Duggar was born and raised in Pembroke, GA, where she resides in her ancestral home, Savage Creek Farms, a 72-acre registered Georgia Centennial Family Farm.

She received her AA Fine & Applied Arts from Santa Fe Junior College and her B.S. from the University of Houston.
Says Carol, “When I begin a painting, I am inspired by color. I enjoy painting a variety of subject matter, working on the play of light and color. Painting common sites and scenes, I use light and its absence to add drama and tension.”
Through painting, Carol investigates the experience of time, place and feeling in the landscape, along with human interaction. She approaches each painting from an impressionistic standpoint, developing into a more realistic quality.

Carol works from her home-based studio. Her paintings are the result of a combination of her own photographic references, direct observation and her imagination.

Oils are her medium of choice because of the buttery texture and the richness of color.

Carol has memberships in the Savannah Art Association, Telfair Museums and Women Painters of the Southeast
